the mourning after: poems 1996 – 2011

the mourning after: poems 1996 – 2011 is Edmonton poet Kasia Gawlak’s first poetry collection, a retrospective volume spanning 15 years of her work. The earliest poem in the collection was written at the age of 19, the most recent at the age of 33. the mourning after explores sex, love, heartbreak, loss, grief, anger and human relationships. The book features 43 original illustrations (including front and back covers) by Andreas Loutas, a gifted Edmonton artist whose work is dark, complex and provocative. the mourning after is self-published and self-designed, with all the layout work and publishing prep done by Kasia herself.

the mourning after is available locally in Edmonton at Audreys Books downtown on Jasper Avenue at 107 Street. You can also order online now and your book(s) will be shipped to you. Thank you for supporting local writers and independent Canadian publishing.
